kiln firing services
facilitated by amy smoot
NEW! Kentuck is now offering kiln firing services! This is a great option for those who make work at home, but lack expensive kilns to finish it! Please read carefully to see about our two options:
$85 Clay and Firing Package: Get your clay and your firings all in one price! This includes a 25lb bag of clay and bisque and glaze firings to complete all the work made from your bag of clay. Once you purchase this option, contact Amy at asmoot@kentuck.org to schedule a pick up day and time.
$50 Kiln Firings Only: If you already have your own clay and only need to get it fired, this option is for you! The fee covers bisque and glaze firings for 25lbs worth of your own clay.
Glazes and studio time are not included in these prices, if you would like to purchase use of our pottery dipping glazes or Open Studio time, you can add that to your ticket for an additional fee.
Have more clay to fire? Purchase 2 tickets for firing 50lbs of clay. Work will be weighed upon drop off. Drop off and pickup correspondence will be done via email. When checking out, be sure to put an email that you frequently check. If you are using your own clay and glazes, they must be rated to Cone 6 or higher (NOT Cone 06) and properly applied. Clay is not always predictable, and sometimes work does the opposite of what we expect when fired. Kentuck is not liable for mishaps like cracks, glaze runs, pinholes or any other disappointments. No refunds will be issued for the above. Work could take 2-4 weeks to fire depending on size, dryness, and other factors. Click HERE for Terms and Conditions.
