Interested in learning how to make a book? Look no further! In this workshop, you will learn mixed media techniques while creating the covers for your book. Using acrylic paints and inks, stamps, stencils, collage, and pen and pencil, you'll design unique covers that will be used to create a book using the Butterfly Binding method. This sewing technique was developed around the 11th century and was originally known as Yamato Toji.

You must be 18+ to attend. Space is limited to 8 attendees. The minimum for this class is 6 participants, and if the class does not meet the minimum, participants will be refunded. Tickets are non-refundable once the registration deadline ends.

Vickie Finley is a bookbinder and mixed media artist who has been creating handmade books since 2020, when a calligraphy class first sparked her interest in the craft. Since then, she has developed a deep passion for bookbinding and now shares that enthusiasm by teaching others, introducing people of all ages to the beauty and creativity of handmade books. Vickie lives in Mountain Brook with her husband, two dogs, and two cats. She’s also a proud mother of three and grandmother of five.
